May 31st, 2008 by Rohit N.V.V.S | No Comments | Filed in Google

Google took up a change that was quite unexpected:A change in their favicon!.

Though Google has been bringing up those unexpected services,no one really expected them to change their favicon. They have been preserving their old favicon since their launch and this is their first change!.The old favicon has an uppercase ‘G’?(blue on white) while the new one has a lowercase ‘g’(purple on white).

You see the new Google favicon here:

If you have no idea what a favicon is,then this is for you:
A favicon stands for a “favorite icon” and it is a small 16 x 16 pixel image that appears before the URL in the address bar and on the TABS of the browser. It’s a characteristic of a website.

Gmail,Orkut,Blogger retain their old favicons.
