Let Twitmarks guess your gender based on your Twitter stream

February 8th, 2009 by Rohit Nellipudi | No Comments | Filed in twitter

If in case you are just curious whether your Twitter updates can guess your gender, you should check the Twitmarks’s Mark Your Gender Application developed by Arun Vijayan of webforth.com(@ twitter.com/mixdev)

You just need to enter your Twitter username and the application makes a guess of your gender using your Twitter updates. As they themselves acknowledge-”Humans make mistakz. So will the machines.”,the guesses made cannot be accurate.

If your Twitter stream is wrongly perceived by the system as that of the opposite gender, you can teach the system about your gender to prevent embarrassment.

While most of us experience our Twitter follower count rising day by day,we never know whether anyone just stopped following us on Twitter. We do receive emails to our email id whenever someone starts to follow us but not if someone stops to do so.Qwitter is a service which does just that and nothing else.

All you provide Qwitter is your Twitter username and your email id to which you wish to recieve emails.Whenever someone stops following you on Twitter, they send an automatically generated email stating who stopped following you and after which Tweet.

Sweet and cool…isn’t it.Ofcourse, this is not a Twitter service but we should see it be integrated into the system soon.

Twitter has been a revolution in blogging world. It has changed the way bloggers can update their readers.

Cashing in on it’s popularity,Twittad.com has come up with an idea to monetize Twitter user profiles. With ads creeping in everywhere, this should be of no suprise to most of internet users.

Now Twittad.com is first of it’s kind to come up with this concept. The Twitter profile owners set a duration and a price of their own.Advertisers can then purchase advertising on your profile.Their ads are to be shown on the background of your twitter profile and thus,non-clickable.The publishers are paid on per-hour basis and can withdraw money to their Paypal account once their reserves reach 20$.

Some Tips:
Here, the popularity of your Twitter account is the key in making more out of the program. So,you need to have a strong follower base which shows in your follower count.
Next up,you need to set a reasonable price to attract advertisers.

The first impressions give glimpses of a good oppurtunity in the making and so don’t fail to be part of it.

With my previous post describing what Twitter is,now it’s time to get a tutorial-A tip to show off your count of Twitter followers.

You should have seen the feedburner chicklets-the small banners held by site owners to show their count of RSS feed subscribers. This is a similar thing- a Twitter chicklet. This should be a nice way to boast about your “Fan base” and attract more followers.

All you have to do is to go to Twittercounter.com,enter in your account name.On presing enter, you get the chicklet code.Simply paste this code into your blog’s sidebar or wherever you wish to display the chicklet. The site also shows a graph displaying your Twitter-follow count for the past 8 days.

If you have just opened a Twitter account and trying for your chicklet, you should have some problems. The site is having some problems in displaying data for new accounts….so just be patient !!.
